Benissa's local businesses have showcased their strength and creativity in the seventh edition of the Commercial Shop Window Contest, held during the patron saint festivities in honor of the Puríssima Xiqueta.

Twenty local shops participated in this initiative, promoted by the Benissa City Council, through AFIC-Creama, and the Association of Commerce and Business of Benissa (ACEB). The event has become a key date for highlighting the municipality's commercial fabric, filling shop windows with imagination, color, and unique identity.
The collaboration of students from I.E.S. Josep Iborra and C.P.E.E. Gargasindi enriched the creativity of the displays, fostering community involvement. The jury, composed of representatives from the Benissa City Council, Creama, the Puríssima Xiqueta 2026 Festival Committee, educational centers, and ACEB, visited the participating establishments on April 22.
Evaluation criteria included decoration, ambiance, product placement, and artisanal craftsmanship. The first prize, worth €300, went to Foto Estudi Campos. Floristería Isabel secured second place with a €200 prize, and Mila Giner completed the podium with the third prize, valued at €100. All awarded establishments will also receive an accredited diploma.
Additionally, CEE Gargasindi received a special prize of €200 for its students' participation in creating the winning shop window. This contest aims to recognize the effort of Benissa's merchants, who, through their creative displays, attract customers and boost local economic activity, reinforcing the crucial role of proximity commerce in the social and economic life of the municipality.
