The Koinós Dénia: Encounters on Cinema, Music, and Thought series resumes its activities with the participation of Palomeque, one of the most prominent voices in the current literary scene. The event will take place at 7:30 PM and promises to be a space for cultural debate and reflection.
Azahara Palomeque, originally from Córdoba and holding a doctorate in Cultural Studies from Princeton University, is a prolific author who has explored poetry, essays, journalism, and narrative. Since her return to Spain, she has solidified her position with works such as the poetry collection Currículum (2022), the sociological essay Vivir peor que nuestros padres (2023), the novels Huracán de negras palomas (2023), and her recent publication, Pueblo blanco azul (2026). Additionally, she regularly contributes to media outlets such as El País, Público, and La Marea.
The Koinós Dénia project, which began in the spring of 2025, organizes public conversations with relevant figures in contemporary culture. The initiative is promoted by the Fundació Creativa Dénia, with joint direction from CineClub Pessic and L'Esperança Coronada, two regional associations, and the philosopher and writer Javier López Alós, who is responsible for leading the sessions. The cycle is supported by the Fundació Salom Sabar, through the Premios Impulsa Cultura, and collaborates with the newspaper La Marina Plaza.
This year's program began on March 23 with pianist Noelia Rodiles. Following Palomeque's session, the cycle will continue on May 21 with Dénia-born artist Dani Sanchis, recognized in the fields of collage, illustration, and graphic design. For the autumn period, the presence of philosopher Marina Hervás has been confirmed, with the final author for the 2026 program yet to be determined. Recordings of previous encounters are available on video and audio platforms, as well as on Koinós Dénia's official social media channels.
