An advertisement in Xàbia has highlighted the problem of overcrowding of young tourists in holiday rental apartments and chalets, with the slogan "Where 2 fit, 3, 4, 5 and 7 fit".

The town of Xàbia, known for its family-friendly and peaceful tourism, is facing a different reality with the rise of party holiday packages. These offers, focused on nightlife, include discos, beach bars, and DJ parties in urbanisation pools, setting aside natural attractions such as beaches and coves.
The phenomenon of over-occupancy in tourist apartments was first detected after the pandemic lockdown and, since then, has not been corrected. Many young people, who seek short stays of three or four days, do not consider sharing small spaces with their companions in rented accommodation a problem.
This growing holiday model is confirmed by the presence of groups of young people arriving at Xàbia's bus station and searching for their apartments with luggage in tow. Companies specialising in these packages do not hide the overcrowding; instead, they turn it into a selling point, as part of the tourist experience.
