The month of July begins on À Punt with the premiere of ‘Valencians sobre rodes’ (Valencians on Wheels), a program dedicated to cycling enthusiasts. Hosted by Gemma Payà, the healthy format will offer the best routes and landscapes of the Valencian Community every Wednesday, starting at 10:45 PM.
Produced by TVBGN Production and Surf Channel with the participation of À Punt, the series will run for thirteen weeks, with each episode lasting 50 minutes. Each broadcast will feature a different cycle tourism route, blending nature, local gastronomy, and the people from the villages the program's team travels through. Locations such as the Serpis Green Way, La Serrania, La Via Xurra, the Bobal Wine Route, or the Fountains of Marina Baixa will be explored.
The first episode, airing on Wednesday, July 1st, will focus on the Marina Alta region. The route will start at Almadrava beach in Els Poblets and continue through the Marjal de Pego-Oliva Natural Park, Pego, l’Atzúbia, Forna Castle, and into the Vall de Gallinera. It will also visit the Vall d’Alcalà and the abandoned village of l’Atzuvieta, before concluding at the Port of Vall d’Ebo and the Cova del Rull, finishing in Benimaurell (la Vall de Laguar).
Gemma Payà, known for other regional television programs and her work as a blogger and podcaster, described the program as a personal discovery. She highlighted that the true protagonists are the people, their stories, and the Valencian land, which imbue each journey with magic.
The program's director, Salva Ruiz, emphasized the goal of showcasing the essence of the Valencian Community through its landscapes, culture, and people, using sport as a connecting thread. Ruiz also praised Payà's professionalism during filming, even while she was a new mother.
The ultimate aim of ‘Valencians sobre rodes’ is to present a vibrant and honest vision of the Valencian territory, demonstrating that sport is more than just movement—it's a way of telling stories.
