A total of 50 Calp businesses have received the “Som Turisme Accessible” certificate, a distinctive that certifies that these companies offer facilities and services adapted for all people. Calp thus takes another step in its commitment to becoming an accessible tourist destination. The Councilor for Tourism Planning, Mireia Ripoll, along with the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Rebeca Merchán, accompanied by the president of AEMCO, Santi Ferrer, and Sandra Dobal representing ADICALP (Association of People with Disabilities of Calp), presented these distinctions in an event held on Saturday in the Plaza Major.
This is the second time these certificates have been awarded to companies in Calp. Last year, 17 establishments received this distinction, mainly tourist accommodations, as well as the two tourist offices of Calp, and the tourist information point at La Fossa beach, which met accessibility criteria. Now, 50 more businesses are added to this list, mostly restaurants and some shops.
Among the certified establishments are Restaurant La Piemontesa Fusión, El Escorial, Costa, Cafeteria Aryel, Audrey’s, the Restaurant del Reial Club Nàutic, Baguet Bicycle Center, Cafeteria MyMercat, La Flor del Café, Burger King, Bar Cometa, Restaurante Zafra, Gastro Bar Bohuma, Restaurante Bambero, Sabores de Oriente, El Toro, Cafeteria Yummy, Bar El Rincón, Coral Beach Les Bassetes, T Pompierke, Pizzeria Da Vitorio, Gelateria Topacio III, Abiss, Centre Cívic, Tu Capricho, The Coffee Box, el Faro Blanco, Skybar Hotel Suitopía, Cantonet, Cafeteria – Gelateria Amara, El Faro del Puerto, Arrocería El Andaluz, El Chiringuito, la Fosa, Tequilas, KFC Calp, McDonald’s, La Piemontesa, 78 Sabores y Copas, El Peñón, La Lonja, Ummami, Beauty Salon A.R.T., Supermercat Charter (Consum), Plusholidays Calpe, Mrdog Calpe, Jet Construction & Services Costa Blanca SL, Viva Cars Calpe, Servtoix Calpe, and Ifach Òptica i Àudio.
The “Som Turisme Accessible” distinctive, promoted by Equalitas Vitae, recognizes companies that meet accessibility criteria and facilitates the identification of adapted spaces for people with specific needs. All certified establishments are part of the Calp Accessible Tourist Destination of Equalitas Vitae, which offers detailed, descriptive, and objective information on the accessibility conditions of each tourist resource.
This initiative has been developed within the framework of the training and awareness project for inclusive and accessible tourism, included in Calp's Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (PSTD) as part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) financed by the European Union – Next GenerationEU.
