This initiative stems from the concerning situation at IES Xebic, which, according to the party, is suffering from student overcrowding, facility deficiencies, and a notable lack of adequate spaces for teaching.
The proposal was discussed at an assembly held on March 27, where institutional representatives, teachers, and families gathered. The meeting was attended by the mayors of Els Poblets, El Verger, Ràfol d’Almúnia, Sanet, Benimeli, and Ondara, along with members of the institute's AFA, to analyze the problem and seek coordinated solutions.
During the assembly, issues such as overcrowding, structural deficiencies that become evident with rain, and a lack of material resources were highlighted. The need for a joint response from administrations and the educational community was emphasized.
The long-term proposal involves planning a new educational infrastructure in the municipality of El Verger, or an institute section, that can accommodate students from El Verger and Els Poblets up to 4th year of ESO.
Among the urgent measures, Compromís demands the review and execution of the Edificant Plan approved in 2025, with an emphasis on repairing leaks and filtrations, as well as adapting and air-conditioning classrooms. These actions are considered essential to address immediate shortcomings while a long-term solution is developed.
The party insists on the importance of institutional coordination and constant dialogue to monitor the situation and ensure a “dignified and quality” public education system.
