The national competition brought together the most prominent badminton and parabádminton athletes from across Spain, with a total of 152 participants from 53 clubs. Club Bádminton Xàtiva was present once again with the participation of Selenia Pla, who competed in the individual and mixed doubles events.
In the individual event, Selenia Pla had to compete in the men's category due to the absence of other female athletes. This did not hinder her, as she overcame her opponents to reach the final. In this match, played on Sunday, May 10, she faced Daniel García from CB Athlos, winning in three sets (15-21, 21-18, and 21-17) and becoming the Spanish champion in the SL4 category.
In the mixed doubles SL4, SU5, WH1, and WH2 event, Selenia partnered with Pablo Serrano from CB Oviedo. The pair secured the Spanish championship title after defeating Francisco Motero and Maya Alcaide 21-9 and 21-10 on the final day of competition.
Additionally, in the National Inclusive Circuit, Selenia Pla participated with Daniel Sánchez from CB Drop Toledo, earning a bronze medal after falling in the semifinals in a close match decided in the third set.
Furthermore, Bádminton Xàtiva added six more medals at the Territorial Master n6 U13 and U17, held last Saturday in Enguera. The athletes from Xàtiva achieved four golds and two bronzes in various categories.
Club Bádminton Xàtiva will participate next Saturday, May 16, in the Territorial Master (n6) U11, U15, and U19, which will take place in El Campello and will gather 115 athletes from 29 clubs.
