The Provincial Council of Valencia has approved the first phase of the urban bike lane in Xàtiva, with an investment of 800,000 euros, as part of the Pla Obert.

The Provincial Council of Valencia will allocate 800,000 euros to the first phase of the urban bike lane in the town center of Xàtiva. This initiative is part of the Pla Obert, the provincial corporation's main investment program.
The latest decree from the Pla Obert includes a total of 2,275,000 euros for the Canal de Navarrés region, slightly over one million for La Costera, and 360,000 euros for La Vall d’Albaida. Among the approved projects are the redevelopment of the Castillo de Bolbaite neighborhood and the construction of a multipurpose hall in Anna.
La Costera is the region with the most actions, a total of ten, submitted by municipalities such as La Font de la Figuera, Xàtiva, L’Alcúdia de Crespins, Llocnou d’en Fenollet, Torrella, and La Granja de la Costera. The new bike lane in Xàtiva, as explained by vice-president Natàlia Enguix, "will improve mobility and bridge the gap created by the train tracks, connecting the municipality with industrial areas and green spaces".
Other actions in La Costera include children's play areas and renovation of sports courts in L’Alcúdia de Crespins; improvements to the electrical supply and purchase of containers in La Font de la Figuera; installation of a photovoltaic panel in Torrella; equipment for the gymnasium in Llocnou d’en Fenollet; and protection of park ground with rubber tiles in La Granja de la Costera.
In Canal de Navarrés, the investment of 2,275,000 euros will be allocated to projects such as the multipurpose hall in Anna (over one million euros), the redevelopment of the Castillo de Bolbaite neighborhood (375,000 euros), and the construction of a park-and-ride facility in the industrial area of Bicorp (775,000 euros).
In La Vall d’Albaida, eight new actions have been approved, adding to the 147 already underway or executed, with an economic allocation of 16 million euros. Notable among these is the renovation of the sports area in Benissoda (190,000 euros), as well as improvements to swimming pools, multipurpose halls, kitchen equipment, and cultural centers in other municipalities.
At the provincial level, the Pla Obert now comprises 1,121 projects with an investment close to 172 million euros, out of the total 350 million for the four-year plan. The latest decree approves 68 initiatives from 45 town councils and three inter-municipal associations, with a global allocation of 13.7 million euros.
