The mayor of Xàtiva, Roger Cerdà, welcomed the new captain of the Civil Guard Company, Diego Angulo, at the town hall this Wednesday. This appointment means that Angulo will be in charge of the demarcation that includes the regions of La Costera, La Canal, and La Vall d'Albaida, with its base in the city of Xàtiva.
Prior to this position, Diego Angulo served as a lieutenant in the Civil Guard's Reserve and Security Group. His career includes active participation in the search for missing persons during the DANA event in October 2024.
This change of command is the second in a short period for the Civil Guard in the Xàtiva demarcation. Previously, in September 2025, Juan Martínez Castillo was officially received at the town hall, serving as captain for only a few months after the retirement of Pedro Rafael Plaza, who had held the position for seven years.
“"We will continue working together, side by side, as we have done until now, to guarantee the security and well-being of our city."
Roger Cerdà took the opportunity to publicly welcome Diego Angulo, wishing him "much success in this new stage of service to the citizenry." The meeting, which also included the participation of Xàtiva's Security Councillor, Xelo Angulo, was followed by a message from the mayor on social media, reaffirming the commitment to collaboration for local security.
