A 78-year-old man died on Monday morning in a traffic accident in La Font de la Figuera (Costera), according to the Information and Coordination Center for Emergencies (CICU).

The accident occurred around 10 AM on the A-35 highway in La Font de la Figuera, involving a car leaving the roadway. A SAMU ambulance, a Basic Life Support (SVB) ambulance, and a medicalized helicopter were dispatched to the scene.

Medical services performed advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on the man, but they were unsuccessful, and his death was confirmed.

Firefighters from Ontinyent (Vall d’Albaida) disconnected the battery of the damaged car, cleaned the road, and assisted the medical teams.

Separately, early on Monday morning, another accident occurred in La Font de la Figuera on the A-33, where a truck overturned with two people inside at 6:50 AM. One of the truck's occupants was trapped inside and was extricated by firefighters before being transferred to medical personnel. Three fire crews from Ontinyent and volunteer firefighters from Vallada (Costera) participated in this operation.
