This strategic initiative aims to adapt the facilities to current needs after nearly three decades of service. The president of the Consortium and deputy for Environment, Avelino Mascarell, framed this renovation within the process of updating key infrastructures, both from an operational standpoint and regarding personnel conditions.
“"This is a strategic action that will allow us to adapt the facilities to current needs after nearly three decades of use."
The project includes a complete reorganization of the interior spaces. The ground floor will house the control room, gym, kitchen, dining room, administrative offices, changing rooms, laundry, and storage areas, in addition to specific spaces for intervention and equipment. The upper floor will include rest areas for personnel and meeting rooms, among others, as reported by the provincial corporation.
“"Improving the working and resting conditions for firefighters is fundamental to guaranteeing an effective service, especially in stations with a high operational load like Torrent."
The renovation also encompasses significant improvements to the hangar, with carpentry renewal, structural reinforcement, and roof replacement, along with an upgraded rainwater collection system. Furthermore, the exterior carpentry of the building will be replaced, a parking canopy will be constructed on the plot, and a new water tank for equipped fire hydrants (BIEs) will be installed.
This action is part of a broader investment plan, recently approved by the Consortium's General Assembly, which will mobilize nearly 30 million euros to enhance emergency response capabilities across the entire province of València. This investment, the largest by the Consortium in the last two decades, will address identified needs in infrastructure, vehicle fleet renewal, and operational equipment improvement across various strategic facilities.
