The plenary session of the Mancomunitat de l'Horta Sud has unanimously approved, with the support of all political groups, the accounts for the 2026 fiscal year. Although the overall figure maintains continuity with previous years, this year's budget is marked by two clear vectors: the consolidation of shared services as a safety net for local councils and the relaunch of the tourism sector as a lever for regional economic recovery.
One of the most significant novelties is the recovery of the allocation for Tourism, which will receive a direct investment of 200,000 euros. Of this amount, 100,000 euros come from own funds and the other 100,000 euros from the Diputación de València. With this investment, the regional entity aims to execute the first actions of its new strategic plan, seeking to attract visitors and generate wealth at a crucial time for the local economy.
“"The absolute priority is post-DANA management and direct support for trade and business. In fact, the approved accounts do not include extraordinary subsidies for the catastrophe, such as the 100,000 euros from the DANA Employment plan, which will be added additionally to ordinary management."
The chapter with the largest economic allocation is once again that of the Regional Development Agency and the Employment Pact, which will receive 416,000 euros. This department, with a team of ten professionals, is responsible for overseeing entrepreneurship and the business fabric of the region, considered a strategic pillar for economic recovery. In addition, the Mancomunitat reaffirms its role as a provider of services that municipalities, on their own, would find difficult to manage, such as the animal collection service (150,000 euros for 16 municipalities) or the regional OMIC (98,000 euros for nine localities), and legal support against evictions (50,000 euros for twelve town councils).
The unanimous agreement of the plenary also safeguards the civil fabric of the region with a package of 60,000 euros in subsidies. This allocation will be distributed among key entities that form the social and cultural engine of l'Horta Sud, such as the Fundació Horta Sud, the Institut d'Estudis Comarcals (Ideco), the Orquestra de l'Horta Sud, the Banda els Majors de l'Horta Sud, and the collectives Soterranya and Artic. These funds also guarantee the financing of reference sports events such as the Junior Cycling Trophy and the Regional Race Circuit.
Finally, band music, one of the great hallmarks of the territory, will receive specific support. The Federació de Societats Musicals de la Comunitat Valenciana will receive 2,000 euros for the organization of the XXV Meeting of Youth Bands of l'Horta Sud, an event that the regional body has decisively chosen to support.
