This initiative stems from the shared memory of a city deeply marked by that tragedy, which claimed the lives of 43 people and left 47 injured. The accident particularly affected Torrent, and twenty years later, the memory remains alive as a collective commitment to remembrance.

Furthermore, the PSPV of Torrent wants to highlight the response of the citizens of Torrent, who from the very first moment knew how to support the families with respect, closeness, and solidarity, reflecting the best of the city in one of its most difficult moments.
Through this motion, the socialists propose the possibility of organizing an institutional act of homage. But, above all, they extend an invitation to all municipal groups so that this initiative can be jointly adopted and become an institutional declaration of the City Council. They consider that this is not a partisan recognition, but a shared responsibility, seeking to open a space for unity, where memory, dignity, and respect are expressed jointly.
