This project, promoted by the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud and companies such as Connect Clean and Avre Expertises within the Erasmus K-210 call, brought together six members of the Torrent group for workshops held on May 4 and 5 at the Florida Grup Educatiu de Catarroja.
During these workshops, professionals, technicians, and institutional leaders from various countries shared knowledge, experiences, and innovative solutions in risk management. The program combined institutional sessions, technical presentations, and practical workshops, addressing territorial prevention and international experience exchange with specialists from organizations such as the United Nations, the Red Cross, and artificial intelligence research centers applied to emergencies.
The second day focused on operational actors, such as Civil Protection, Firefighters, and Local Police, as well as students from Florida's Logistics Degree. A hundred people were divided into groups to study the functions provided by the educational complex during the DANA (volunteer shelter, health care point, veterinary hospital, and logistical supply warehouse) and how performance could be improved.
“"This type of meeting allows us to learn from real experiences in other countries and improve our preparation for emergency situations. Continuous training and knowledge exchange are fundamental to continue offering an effective and coordinated service to citizens."
The participation of Torrent Civil Protection in initiatives like RESIST allows for the incorporation of new tools, knowledge, and protocols that strengthen the municipality's emergency response capacity, especially in a context marked by extreme weather phenomena such as the DANA. This collaboration with the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud has been maintained since the DANA episode.
The Torrent City Council thus reaffirms its commitment to safety and prevention, promoting the training of its teams and cooperation with other administrations and specialized organizations to consolidate a prepared and coordinated city model.
