The pilgrim image of the Virgen de los Desamparados is visiting Aldaia from this Friday until Sunday, to accompany residents and acknowledge their efforts following the impact of the DANA.

The Mare de Déu returns to Aldaia twelve years after her last visit in 2014. The initiative came from the parishioners, who hold her in great devotion, and from several Fallas commissions celebrating their 50th anniversary. The image had previously toured towns affected by the October 2024 floods but could not reach Aldaia. Therefore, this special three-day visit has been organized to offer moments of prayer, fellowship, and support, as stated by the parish priest, Francisco Furió.
For this weekend, from June 19th to 21st, various events have been scheduled. On Friday the 19th, the image was welcomed at 7 PM at the parish of Santíssim Crist and proceeded to the parish of El Salvador and Nuestra Señora de la Salette, with a stop at the old cemetery for a prayer for the deceased. In the evening, a Youth Prayer Vigil was held, preceded by a fellowship dinner organized by the Falla de La Saletta.
This Saturday the 20th, after a Solemn Mass at 10 AM in the parish of La Salette, the image will tour several streets, make a stop at the community of the Hermanas de la Cruz, and head to the parish of La Anunciació. At 6 PM, a Families' Mass will be celebrated, followed by a flower offering. At 9 PM, the solemn procession will take place.
On Sunday the 21st, after the Dawn Song at 5:30 AM and the Dawn Rosary at 8 AM, the eucharist will be celebrated. At 12 PM, the Angelus will be prayed, and children will be presented to the Virgin. Finally, at 5:30 PM, the images of the Christ and the Mare de Déu will depart from the parish of La Anunciació, followed by an open-air mass presided over by Mons. Jesús Murgui, Bishop Emeritus of Orihuela-Alicante and a native of Aldaia. Afterwards, the image's farewell will take place.
