Quart de Poblet has celebrated its traditional ‘Sopar d’Associacions’ (Associations' Dinner), an event that has become the main meeting point for the local associative fabric. The evening saw the participation of 445 people and over 50 entities from the municipality, serving as a collective recognition of the fundamental role associations play in the public life of the town.
Currently, the municipality is home to over 200 associations, with 168 of them being fully active. Approximately 10,000 residents are members of one or more of these organizations, embodying one of Quart de Poblet's strongest identities: the capacity to organize around common interests. This spirit of association has grown in recent years, reflecting the vitality of citizen participation.
Mayor Cristina Mora highlighted the importance of this gathering as a space to “make community” (fer poble). She emphasized that associativism involves citizens in municipal affairs and promotes a model of good living that encompasses festive, cultural, social, educational, and sports activities, as well as intergenerational coexistence.
“When we organize ourselves for what is common, we are stronger as a municipality. It is a night to enjoy, coexist, and showcase the best of Quart de Poblet, which is its people,” the mayor stated.
Following the dinner, entertainer Miriam Herrero led a session of games and musical contests, maintaining the festive atmosphere until a DJ closed the night. The event also featured a photocall and a 360 camera, elements that enlivened the evening and allowed attendees to take home a memento.
Through initiatives like the ‘Sopar d’Associacions’, Quart de Poblet continues to strengthen meeting spaces between entities and citizens, recognizing the work they carry out throughout the year. The City Council thus maintains its commitment to a model of active participation that contributes to building a more cohesive, inclusive, and committed community with its local associative fabric.
