According to the popular party, the decision to "limit comments" on the Manises City Council's Instagram publications prevents citizens from freely expressing their discomfort or disagreement with municipal management through institutional social networks. This measure, which would have been taken months ago, is seen as an attempt to "sugarcoat" the municipality's situation.
“"Public money is being used for self-promotion while the opinion of residents is silenced."
The PP claims to have requested on several occasions, both from the communication department and in the municipal plenary session, that the possibility of commenting freely on the official channels of the City Council be restored. However, they state that so far they have not received a favorable response to their request.
The popular party's criticisms also focus on the management of public information and access to municipal files. They denounce repeated delays in the delivery of documentation requested by opposition councilors, deadlines that, they point out, far exceed the limits established by law. Some files, according to the PP, "take up to five months to be provided," despite the fact that regulations contemplate a period of five calendar days to guarantee the right to access information.
In this regard, they recall that the Manises City Council has recently been included in the "black list" of the Síndic de Greuges de la Comunitat Valenciana due to the lack of response to claims presented by residents of the municipality. The party concludes that "when information is hidden, the feeling is generated that important problems that inconvenience the municipal government are being covered up."
