The intervention will allow for the creation of a completely renovated sports center, featuring a new upper floor as its main novelty. This new space has a triple objective: to expand the facilities with new multipurpose rooms, house essential machinery protected from water, and provide a safe evacuation area in case of flooding.
The project includes a comprehensive renovation of the entire center. The pool and changing rooms will be fully rehabilitated, while the gym will double its current size. Additionally, the new sports facility will incorporate three multipurpose rooms for various physical and sports activities.
The new project also incorporates measures to improve the equipment's energy efficiency, such as new solar energy systems. Notably, the center will be surrounded by vertical gardens on its facades, providing coolness in summer and better temperatures in winter.
The planned investment for the Indoor Pool and Sports Center in Picanya is approximately 5 million euros, funded by the Ministry of Territorial Policy.
