The initial strength of the flames prompted the activation of situation 1 of the Special Plan Against the Risk of Forest Fires (PEIF) at 4:20 PM, a measure reserved for emergencies that could severely affect forest assets or mildly impact the population and non-forest property. The fire started shortly before 4:00 PM near Palafox street and the General Cavalcanti area.
The extinction operation involved a significant contingent of resources. Initially, three aircraft were deployed, but due to the fire's intensity, the number of resources was doubled, with a total of seven aerial units operating. On the ground, seven brigades of Forest Firefighters from the Generalitat Valenciana participated with water tanker units, along with two teams, a sergeant, a forest coordinator, and a sector chief from the Provincial Consortium of Firefighters of Valencia.
Thanks to the rapid and coordinated intervention of the teams, the CCE officially announced that the fire was stabilized at 5:36 PM, at which point the aerial resources were gradually withdrawn. The causes of the fire are still unknown and under investigation.
In parallel, the CCE reported another vegetation fire declared in the town of Casinos. For this second incident, an aerial unit, a forest firefighter unit, and two additional teams from the Consortium of Firefighters of Valencia were quickly mobilized to tackle the fire as soon as possible.
