Twelve weeks after their installation, the scaffolding has been removed from the first properties in Picanya, revealing renovated facades that promise a 60% energy saving for 19 residential communities.

The improvement works on the habitability conditions in various buildings in Picanya, specifically around Carrer Senyera, Av. Santa Maria del Puig, and Carrer Sant Antoni Abat, are progressing well. Although some work remains, the basic intervention on the facades has been completed, and the SATE insulating material now covers the exterior of these properties.
These interventions focus on improving energy efficiency, acting on facades and internal courtyards with the installation of SATE. Additionally, windows are being replaced with Climalit glass, and gas heaters are being swapped for more efficient aerothermal systems. With this comprehensive action, an energy saving of 60% is estimated for residents.
The funds allocated to this project will entirely benefit 19 residential communities with which the Municipal Housing Office (Oficina Xaloc) had already coordinated an action plan. These communities are located on Carrer València (where works are also underway), Av. Santa Maria del Puig, Carrer Sant Antoni Abat, and Av. Senyera. These properties were built in the 1960s and 1970s, having been in use for around 50 years, making a comprehensive adaptation to current needs essential.
These aids, managed by municipal technical services, complement other initiatives that are almost finished, such as the rehabilitation project for properties in the Av. Puig and Carrer Ramón y Cajal areas, which were the first housing blocks built in Picanya. The Picanya City Council thus demonstrates its clear commitment to the rehabilitation and improvement of older buildings, not only to enhance the quality of life for current residents but also to offer attractive housing options for young people and reduce the number of vacant homes in the municipality.
