The València Provincial Council has allocated €278,000 to 38 municipalities in l'Horta for equality and gender violence prevention projects, as part of a total provincial investment of €1,330,000.
The València Provincial Council will allocate €278,000 to equality and gender violence prevention projects promoted by 38 municipalities in l'Horta. The call for proposals will distribute €144,000 among 17 municipalities in Horta Sud and €134,000 for 21 municipalities in Horta Nord.
These grants are part of a provincial investment of €1,330,000 for 235 initiatives presented by 224 town councils, ten inter-municipal associations, and the Pactem Nord Consortium, all affiliated with the Provincial Network against Gender Violence. The call received 244 applications, nine of which were rejected for not complying with the objectives or bases, or for duplication.
Approved subsidies range from €786 for Benirredrà to over €16,000 for Catarroja, depending on the proposed activities. The Network against Gender Violence of the València Provincial Council currently comprises 246 town councils, 14 inter-municipal associations, and one consortium.
Among the highlighted initiatives, Alboraya's project focuses on the particular vulnerability of migrant women to discrimination and gender-based violence. Meanwhile, Alaquàs will organize workshops for Primary Education students to address the gender gap in science, aiming to dismantle stereotypes.
In Horta Nord, the subsidies total €134,000 for the 21 participating municipalities. This region also includes Pactem Nord, the sole consortium involved in the provincial distribution.
