Citizens of Benetússer have received training on flood risks, led by specialists from the Universitat de València, to improve preventive culture in the face of climate change.

The training room at the Nou Espai building in Benetússer hosted a session yesterday on flood risks, directed by Ana Camarasa, Professor of Physical Geography at the Universitat de València. During the session, citizens learned about the territory's river basin functioning, how to read flood risk maps, and the available resources and tools for accessing official information during potential emergencies.
The session is part of a cycle of free pilot training programs open to the public, developed by the research group Riumed Mediterranean Hydrology, affiliated with the Faculty of Geography at the Universitat de València and led by Camarasa herself. These sessions were organized in conjunction with the Mancomunitat de l’Horta Sud.
The aim of these pilot sessions, which will also take place in Torrent, Paiporta, Massanassa, and Aldaia, in addition to Benetússer, is to foster a greater preventive culture and a better understanding of the risks associated with climate change, particularly after the DANA event of October 29th, which severely affected these municipalities.
