The Castle of Alaquàs hosted the presentation of the Clara Campoamor Award 2026 to the Alanna association, acknowledging its efforts for vulnerable women and families.

The association Alanna, founded in 2002, has been honored this year with the Clara Campoamor Award 2026. This award, presented by the Consell de les Dones de Alaquàs as part of the March 8th celebrations, recognizes the entity's tireless work in comprehensive care, empowerment, and reconstruction for women, children, and families in vulnerable situations.
The event, which began with a musical performance by the Thiasos Coral, was attended by the Mayor of Alaquàs, Toni Saura, the Councillor for Equality, Elena Álamo, members of the Municipal Corporation, and representatives of local associations. Previously, a plaque dedicated to Alanna was unveiled at the Paseo Violeta, in the Sequieta park, a space symbolizing the path towards equality.
The award was received by the association's president, Chelo Álvarez Sanchis. Alanna's Comprehensive Care Center offers psychological, social, legal, and educational support to victims of gender-based violence, including gender violence, sexual violence, exploitation, and feminicides, combining professional care with community and experiential support.
Their work is coordinated with key institutions such as the Government Delegation, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Security Forces to ensure effective protection and response for victims. Recently, they organized women's brigades during the DANA (heavy rainfall) of October 29, 2024 to provide support to women and children affected by gender violence who might have been left more vulnerable after the storm.
Alanna has received numerous distinctions, including the Honorary Distinction from the Generalitat Valenciana (2023), the Isabel de Villena Awards (2023) from the Ayuntamiento de Quart de Poblet, the IV Gender Awards from CERMI (2023), the XXXI Award from the Federation of Progressive Women (2024), the XX Isonomia Award (2024), and the 2024 Award from the Generalitat Valenciana. It has also been recognized with the Menina Distinction (2017) from the Government Delegation and the Celia Amorós Award (2018) from the Diputación de València.
