The Moncada City Council will have to face the payment of one million euros due to a firm judicial sentence related to the management of the public company Promoción Económica de Moncada Sociedad Anónima (PEMSA) during the Popular Party's government period.

This payment will be brought to the ordinary plenary session in April, as reported by the council. The events that led to this judicial resolution date back to 2010 and 2013, when operations were carried out on municipal plots.
The local government links this process to the period when the Popular Party governed and recalls that the former mayor was tried for fraud and prevarication. The Government team has also recalled that some of the political officials from that period continue to launch empty criticisms of municipal management, without taking any responsibility for their decisions and the repercussions on the citizens of Moncada.

"This sentence is the direct consequence of the Popular Party's management. We regret that the council now has to bear a cost that, according to them, does not respond to any investment or current need of the municipality."

For his part, the deputy mayor has warned that this million euros is an amount that can no longer be allocated to municipal services and actions. In his assessment, he cited areas such as cleaning, street maintenance, security, or social policies as possible destinations for these resources.
The local government has stressed, however, that the Moncada City Council faces this payment from an economic situation it considers solid, the result of management that has allowed the approval of the highest budgets in the municipality's recent history and maintained financial stability without increasing tax pressure. This planning, according to the council, will allow the judicial obligation to be assumed without compromising the functioning of public services or the municipal roadmap.
