The Moncada City Council will have to face the payment of one million euros due to a firm judicial ruling, a consequence of the management of the public company PEMSA between 2010 and 2013.

This judicial resolution, which will be approved in the ordinary plenary session in April, obliges the council to assume the economic consequences of decisions made by the previous Popular Party government. The events date back to operations on municipal plots that already raised doubts and controversy at the time.

"This sentence is the direct consequence of the management of the PP and its acolytes, of a way of managing public affairs that compromises everyone's resources without the necessary rigor or guarantees."

The municipal leadership has highlighted that the residents of Moncada now have to bear this payment, which does not correspond to any current investment or improvement, but to the cost of a way of governing that ended up in court. They consider it particularly serious that some of the political officials from that period continue in local public life without taking responsibility for their decisions.

"One million euros is not an abstract figure; it is money that ceases to be invested in basic services and in improving the daily lives of our neighbors."

the deputy mayor of Moncada
The deputy mayor added that these resources could be allocated to cleaning, street maintenance, security, or social policies, and are now lost as a result of decisions that should never have been made. He stressed that when governing without control, the result is always the same: fewer resources for public services and higher costs for citizens.
The government team has emphasized that the City Council faces this payment from a solid economic position, a result of responsible management that has allowed the approval of the highest budgets in the municipality's recent history and maintained financial stability without increasing tax pressure. This planning makes it possible to assume this judicial obligation now without compromising the functioning of public services or the roadmap set for the city.
