The Consell has given the green light to the creation of the Carmen Roca Secondary Education Institute (IES) in Paterna, a measure that responds to the growing demand for school places and regularizes the Vocational Training offer in the municipality.

This initiative is materialized through the transformation of the Secondary Education Section of the IES Doctor Peset Aleixandre, also located in Paterna. The decision represents a significant step forward in local educational planning, ensuring an effective and sustainable response to community needs.
The new center will not only allow for the expansion of existing educational units but will also officially integrate intermediate-level Vocational Training courses. Specifically, qualifications in Hairdressing and Capillary Cosmetics and Care for Dependent Persons will be taught, which until now were offered without an enabling legal framework and are now fully recognized.
The IES Carmen Roca will have a total capacity of 498 school places. Of these, 240 will be for Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and 258 for Vocational Training. Its educational structure will include 8 ESO units, 8 basic-level vocational training cycle units, and 4 intermediate-level vocational training cycle units, thus improving the attention and training offer for students in the area.
