The Rafelbunyol City Council has demanded a concrete timeline for the repair works at CEIP Els Germanells from the General Directorate of Educational Infrastructures by April 30, as the center has been partially closed since February due to structural deficiencies.

The reform plans for CEIP Els Germanells are entering a decisive phase. The Rafelbunyol City Council has urged the General Directorate of Educational Infrastructures to provide an action schedule by April 30 to repair the school, which has been partially closed since February due to severe structural deficiencies.
This demand comes after months of technical work initiated by the City Council itself, which has expedited reports and studies to accelerate a solution that still lacks specific dates. The diagnosis is now complete; according to the local government, the next step is execution.
The situation dates back to the beginning of the year, when technical reports warned of pathologies in one of the school buildings, including persistent leaks, problems with sanitation networks, and construction flaws. As a preventive measure, the Ministry of Education agreed in February to reallocate 18 Infant and Primary classrooms to other facilities in the municipality.

"The City Council has fulfilled its responsibility. Today we are not in a diagnostic phase, but in an execution phase."

Fran López · Mayor of Rafelbunyol
The relocation of 14 classrooms to CEIP Verge del Miracle and 4 to Escoleta El Parc was completed without incident, thanks to coordination among institutions, teachers, and families. However, what was initially planned as a temporary solution has been prolonged while the causes of deterioration were analyzed. Now, with the final expert report completed and a draft repair project already written, the City Council believes the technical process has served its purpose.
Pressure is now directed towards the Generalitat, which is being asked to activate the works as an emergency. The message is clear: the analysis phase is over. In parallel, both administrations have scheduled a new meeting in the coming days to try and finalize a calendar of actions. The target deadline, the end of April, is crucial for planning the next school year with certainty. Meanwhile, students remain in provisional facilities, and the educational community awaits a decision that has become a matter of political management and administrative timing.
