The Local Security Board, held in the council's plenary hall, served to coordinate the human and material resources that will participate in the operation planned for August. The session was chaired by the mayoress of Museros, Cristina Civera, and included participation from representatives of the Government Sub-delegation in Valencia, Civil Guard, Local Police, and National Police.
The security plan for the patron saint festivities, which begin on August 1st with the traditional chupinazo, received the backing of the Government Sub-delegation and the Civil Guard, whose representatives congratulated the Museros City Council and the head of the Local Police for their work in ensuring safe celebrations.
Among the planned measures are the presence of two canine units, access control wristbands, a fenced enclosure, the installation of Violet Points on August 1st and 13th, and a special reinforcement with a larger number of agents and private security contractors. The costume day will feature the most extensive deployment, with a total of 17 Local Police officers and 22 private security professionals. The mayor's office has requested greater coordination and support from all state security forces.
Regarding the municipality's security throughout the year, the Civil Guard has provided a very positive assessment, highlighting that in Museros, criminal offenses decreased by 15% in 2025 compared to the previous year, and by 33% in rural areas. However, in 2026, an increase has been detected in the agricultural sector, particularly in copper theft, and efforts have been focused on these areas, with very low incident rates.
Regarding the coordination of cybersecurity actions, given the rise in such crimes in society, the importance of citizens knowing about the 017 telephone number has been emphasized. This is a national, free, and confidential service provided by INCIBE (National Cybersecurity Institute) to help Internet users resolve computer and digital security problems. INCIBE's website also offers a wealth of informative materials for the public.
Furthermore, the importance of having the AlertCops application installed was recalled. This app features a broader interface and acts as a direct, two-way channel for citizens to report crimes, alert about risky situations, or request emergency assistance quickly, effectively, and with geolocation.
The mayoress, Cristina Civera, stated that “security is a priority all year round, but especially during times when the municipality's activity multiplies and it receives numerous visitors. Therefore, we work in advance and in coordination with all administrations and security forces to ensure the festivities proceed normally and are a space for coexistence and enjoyment for all residents”.
For his part, the head of the Local Police of Museros, Roberto Sánchez, emphasized that “joint planning and the permanent exchange of information between the different forces allow for the design of more effective devices and a rapid response to any incident that may occur during the celebrations”.
The meeting also served to monitor the situation of several illegally occupied properties in the municipality. Of the twelve properties initially affected, three have already been evicted, and according to reports, Sareb has taken measures to prevent new occupations. Regarding the remaining nine, eviction dates are pending. In the meantime, the City Council maintains continuous monitoring and surveillance efforts to prevent further incidents in the area.
