Massalfassar is hosting the 39th Trobada d'Escoles en Valencià de l'Horta Nord for the first time, an event that will bring together thousands of participants between April 17 and 26 to celebrate the Valencian language and culture.

This municipality in l'Horta Nord will transform for ten days into a major meeting point for the regional educational community. The organization, led by Escola Valenciana in collaboration with the Massalfassar City Council, has prepared a program combining cultural activities, live music, community building, and the promotion of Valencian.

"A celebration that highlights our language, culture, and the essential work of public schools."

Robert Margaix · Mayor of Massalfassar
Mayor Robert Margaix emphasized the importance of hosting this event. Similarly, Ivan Palomares, from the Coordinadora pel Valencià de l’Horta Nord, highlighted the “structuring” nature of the gathering and the institutional support received.
The events begin on April 17 with the presentation of the magazine Espai Carraixet at the Trinquet, and continue on April 18 with the awarding of the regional Sambori prizes. That same night, one of the most anticipated moments will be the concert by Gira amb La Fulla and Auxili, prominent groups in the current Valencian music scene.
Between April 20 and 22, the Trobada Musical will take place, with a record participation of 21 educational centers. April 23 will feature the Trobada de Secundària i Batxillerat (Secondary and Baccalaureate Gathering), bringing together over 1,000 students.
The highlight will be on Sunday, April 26, with the Trobada d’Infantil i Primària (Infant and Primary Gathering), the main day of the festival. The day will start with a parade through the town's streets and continue with workshops, performances, and a popular traditional dance. After a communal meal, the afternoon will conclude with a performance by the group Ramonets in the Plaça de l’Església.
Additionally, on April 24, the Civic Center will host the traditional tribute dinner, recognizing the career of musicologist Josep Vicent Frechina, the work of the Dimonis de Massalfassar for their 35 years of history, and the commitment of Josep Fontestad to the normalization of Valencian.
