The reactivation of this service completes the healthcare activity of the clinic, which had already restarted Family Medicine consultations on April 7th. The Ministry of Health has thus met the objective of resuming pediatric care before the summer, once protection measures for staff and patients have been implemented.
The medical facilities had to close at the end of November following aggression suffered by staff. During the closure, users had to travel to the El Clot health center, also in Paterna. From next week, it will no longer be necessary to leave the neighborhood for pediatric care.
To enable the reopening, coordination meetings were held between the Ministry of Health, the Government Sub-delegation in València, the Paterna City Council, and police forces (local, national, and regional) to design a security strategy.
The plan includes increased surveillance with three private security guards inside and the installation of metal detector arches at the main entrances. Additionally, external patrols by police forces have been reinforced, particularly during staff and public entry and exit times.
Internally, the center introduces a new organization of care circuits to ensure orderly entry and prevent overcrowding. A controlled queue management system, differentiated routes for acute and chronic patients, and a single regulated access zone are being implemented.
