The Casa Museu Pinazo in Godella enters a new phase with the establishment of the Fundació Casa Museu Pinazo. This entity's primary objective is to preserve, research, and disseminate the legacy of Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench, one of the most prominent painters of Valencian art, as well as that of his family.
The official presentation of the foundation took place in the very residence, which the painter acquired in 1887 and where he lived his final years until his death on October 18, 1916. The house retains a significant portion of the artist's creative and personal universe.
José Ignacio Casar Pinazo, grandson of sculptor Ignacio Pinazo Martínez and a driving force behind the project, emphasized the need to "captivate Valencian society and institutions" to ensure the conservation and promotion of this unique cultural heritage.
Ignacio Pinazo Camarlench (Valencia, 1849) is a key figure in the renewal of Valencian painting in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The house in Godella, a witness to a fundamental part of his career, now becomes the center of a project to transmit his legacy to future generations.
The Casa Museu Pinazo is more than just an exhibition space; each room reflects the artist's daily life and creative process. The studio, where he created representative works, remains practically intact, as does much of the furniture and personal belongings.
The legacy includes oil paintings, watercolors, drawings, sculptures, documentation, and the family archive, a collection of heritage preserved for over a century by four generations of the painter's descendants.
Restorer Asun Tena highlighted the importance of conservation and restoration work in maintaining the house's artworks and historical objects in optimal condition.
The new foundation is established with the aim of guaranteeing the preservation of this heritage and opening it further to society through cultural, educational, and research activities.
