The fire alarm was received in the early hours of Saturday, necessitating the deployment of an extinguishing unit to the area to prevent the flames from spreading to the rest of the facilities. Due to the highly flammable nature of the stored material, cork, control efforts focused on confining the fire's source and cooling the structure.
Various units from the provincial corps participated in the extinguishing tasks. Thanks to the rapid action of the firefighters, the fire was brought under control and finally extinguished without the flames affecting adjacent warehouses or causing personal injuries.
Despite the spectacular column of smoke, the damage was limited to the production and storage area of the factory itself. For now, the causes of the fire are unknown and will be investigated by technicians once ventilation and securing of the premises are completed.
