The neighborhood associations of El Cabanyal-Canyamelar and hoteliers from Paseo Neptuno have sent a letter to the València City Council. In it, they show their opposition to the possible relocation of music events, initially scheduled for the City of Arts and Sciences (CACSA), to Marina Norte. The condition for acceptance is that there must be a prior impact study and consensus with the affected environment.
This statement comes after the mayor's declarations in favor of redistributing CACSA events to other areas of the city. This decision is based on a recent ruling that supports residents in the area due to excessive noise.
The associations have demanded, first, the immediate cessation of the use of undeveloped plots for the celebration of itinerant events and massive activities without a clear and consensual regulatory framework.
Furthermore, they request the provisional habilitation of these spaces, while they are not urbanistically developed, for uses demanded by the neighborhood, such as parking for residents.
The associations have also demanded from the València City Council the non-automatic relocation of festivals and concerts from other areas of the city to Marina Norte without a prior impact study and without consensus with the affected environment.
Finally, the signatories of the statement have requested the establishment of a stable working group between the city council, neighborhood associations, and the hospitality sector in the area. The objective is to evaluate and regulate the impact that these events would have on the community.
