With this new delivery, the program now exceeds 14,000 volumes distributed over a decade. Vice President Natàlia Enguix, head of Democratic Memory, highlighted that the project aims to foster democratic values, access to culture, and strengthen public libraries as spaces for knowledge, dialogue, and coexistence. This year, the municipalities of Almussafes and Chiva have joined.
The investment for this batch of books amounts to 17,000 euros and includes works such as ‘Human Rights’, ‘The Virile Nation’, ‘Laboratories of Democracy’, and ‘The Eyes of Moscow’. Some publications delve into the history of figures like Enric Moret and Isidro Escandell, and collaborations include the Baltasar Garzón Foundation and the Institución Alfons el Magnànim.
Municipalities interested can join the program free of charge by contacting the Democratic Memory delegation.
Natàlia Enguix emphasized the crucial role of institutional collaboration with universities, publishers, and town councils to expand and enrich access to these local collections. The complete catalog of works is available on the Provincial Council's website.
