The Mobility Service of the Valencia City Council has started work this week to transform part of the intersection of Sant Francesc de Borja and Alzira streets, in the Arrancapins neighborhood, into a new 500 square meter pedestrian zone.
This adaptation will be achieved by eliminating the traffic lane and the parking area located in the section between numbers 21 and 27 of Alzira street, creating a safer and more accessible space for pedestrians.
With the creation of this plaza, accessibility in the area of action is improved through the widening of sidewalks and the transformation of the roadway and parking areas into a pedestrian space with stamped concrete, at the same level as the widened sidewalks, as highlighted by the councillor.
The project, awarded to the company Bertolín for an amount of 52,067.03 euros (VAT included) and with an execution period of two months, is a beneficiary of aid covering more than 35% of its base budget. This aid comes from a package of projects to promote sustainable urban mobility, convened by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) with co-financing from the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Program of the Valencian Community 2021-2027.
