This bidirectional bike lane, segregated from the road and adjacent to the west sidewalk, has been opened in sections since early 2026. First, the ends were opened, from Doctor Tomàs Sala to Joaquín Navarro in the south, and from Mestre Sosa to Giorgeta in the north. In early April, the section between Joaquín Navarro and Dolores Alcaide was completed.
Sant Vicent Màrtir street is one of the most important arteries in the south of the city and, thanks to this new infrastructure, now has a cycling connection that links the neighborhoods of Sant Marcel·lí, La Creu Coberta, La Raïosa, and Arrancapins.
Additionally, a restructuring of the traffic lanes has been carried out, leaving one for motorized traffic between Roís de Corella (which recently reversed its direction of circulation) and the southern boulevard.
The project originated from the DecidimVLC 2017 participatory budgets and was awarded to the company Pavasal Empresa Constructora SAU for an amount of 657,420.50 euros. It receives 90 percent of its base budget (excluding VAT) through the European Union and Next Generation funds, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
