The Valencia City Council has forwarded new cases of possible irregularities in rental contracts used for residential registrations to the Provincial Prosecutor's Office, adding to an existing file on similar incidents.

These actions follow an earlier investigation, initiated after a property owner reported that unknown individuals had registered at their home without any signed rental agreement.
Recently, the council added two new complaints to the file. One relates to allegedly irregular rental contracts that had already been reported to the Tax Agency and the National Police.
The second complaint details the registration of up to five people at the same address without the owner's knowledge, who also received official notifications addressed to third parties. In both instances, municipal investigations point to the use of rental contracts with potential manipulations or falsifications.

"The actions began when it was detected that several registrations had been processed with contracts that presented an identical format but with different signatures from the supposed owner, which raised doubts about their authenticity among the technicians."

Juan Carlos Caballero · Councillor for Registry and Population
The councillor responsible for the Registry and Population service, Juan Carlos Caballero, explained that a repeated pattern has also been identified: the use of properties without the consent of their owners for successive registrations of different individuals.
Given these facts, and in compliance with current regulations, the City Council has submitted all documentation to the Prosecutor's Office to determine if the facts constitute a crime and, if so, to initiate the corresponding proceedings.
