The submission period for the Ciutat de València Literary Awards 2026 is open until May 26, seeking to recognize and promote unpublished works across various literary categories.

The call, managed through the Valencia City Council's electronic headquarters, aims to stimulate literary creation in its different modalities, promote emerging and established talent, and foster culture in both Valencian and Spanish.
Within the nine established categories, the narrative, poetry, theater, and essay modalities each feature two awards: one for works in Spanish and another for works in Valencian. The comic category, for its part, has a single award.
Among the prominent awards are the Isabel de Villena Narrative Award in Valencian and the Vicente Blasco Ibáñez Narrative Award in Spanish, both endowed with 10,000 euros. In poetry, the Maria Beneyto (Valencian) and Juan Gil-Albert (Spanish) awards offer 6,000 euros. For theater, the Eduard Escalante (Valencian) and Max Aub (Spanish) awards grant 8,000 euros. The essay awards, Celia Amorós (Spanish) and Josep Vicent Marqués (Valencian), are also endowed with 10,000 euros. Finally, the Josep Sanchis Grau Comic Award comes with 10,000 euros.
Each awarded author will receive, in addition to the monetary prize, a sculpture created by Miquel Navarro specifically for these awards. The detailed requirements for submitting candidacies in each category can be consulted in the call available on the municipal electronic headquarters.
