This appointment brings in a profile with experience in municipal politics and a strong connection to the Valencian social and cultural spheres. Fagoaga began his career in the CDS Youth and later was part of UPyD. In the 2023 elections, he participated in the Ciudadanos candidacy in València, led by Fernando Giner.
In addition to his political background, Fagoaga maintains active participation in the city's cultural and festive life. In the municipal sphere, he has focused his interest on issues such as mobility, cleanliness, and security, advocating for a more accessible management. He also defends strengthening Valencia's institutional role through the recognition of its capital status in the Statute of Autonomy.
“"Let's channel our anger and frustration into building a stronger Valencia. Because Valencia unites us."
The party has indicated that this incorporation responds to its objective of consolidating a project based on proximity and knowledge of the territory. Fagoaga, for his part, has affirmed that he assumes the position with the commitment to work for a "more participatory Valencia focused on the needs of its citizens".
Unión Municipalista, founded in 2024, brings together nearly 300 independent local parties across Spain. The organization aims to expand its institutional representation in the 2027 municipal elections and also plans to run in regional elections to gain presence in regional parliaments.
