The UGT trade union section at València City Council has come out in defense of municipal management following the complaint filed by Compromís with the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

The public services delegation of the City Council has issued a statement criticizing those who «politically use, as an electoral weapon and for partisan interests» public workers. This statement refers to the news arising from the Compromís complaint, without explicitly mentioning it.
The statement addresses the subrogation processes of the València Activa, Cemas, Climate and Energy, and Local Police Foundation foundations, which it firmly defends. The coalition's complaint refers to alleged «tailor-made» positions for employees of the València 2007 Consortium in Visit València, the Municipal Sports Foundation, and the València Port Authority.

"From UGT València City Council, we have always believed in the transparency and legality of the worker integration processes carried out by the City Council's technical staff. Questioning this is a very serious accusation and only serves to tarnish the image of the administration and the professionalism of its staff, whom we will always defend."

The conflict with Visit València and the Municipal Sports Foundation stems from not having carried out an employee subrogation process, which was requested by the PSPV and Compromís. According to the city council, legal reports advised against this subrogation for the case of the València 2007 Consortium. Furthermore, the UGT took the València Port Authority to court over two newly created positions that ended up being filled by two employees of the València 2007 Consortium, positions that Anti-Corruption is also investigating as a result of the complaint.

"We find it regrettable to politically use, as an electoral weapon and for partisan interests, public workers, putting their jobs and family projects at risk. This only leads to a highly dangerous future dynamic with an uncertain outcome, and the possible consequences must be carefully considered."

The union concludes that it has «no doubt that the subrogation processes of València Activa, Cemas, Climate and Energy Foundation, as well as the Local Police Foundation, have been carried out respecting legality, as it could not be otherwise».
