The National Police have arrested two men in Puçol for cultivating 1,400 marijuana plants in a chalet, where they had manipulated the electrical installation to defraud the company of over 43,000 euros.

Agents of the National Police have dismantled a significant marijuana plantation in a chalet located in a Puçol urbanization. The operation culminated in the arrest of two men, aged 43 and 44, as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking offense and electricity fraud.
The investigation, carried out by the Local Police Station of Sagunt, began after receiving information about the possible existence of an illicit cultivation inside a residence. Following various inquiries and surveillance, officers confirmed the presence of an indoor cannabis plantation.
During the entry and search of the chalet, police located a total of 1,400 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, with an approximate weight of 268 kilograms. Additionally, it was detected that the electrical installation had been fraudulently manipulated to supply the lighting, ventilation, and air conditioning systems necessary for cultivation.
It is estimated that the value of the defrauded electricity supply amounts to approximately 43,000 euros. The detainees, both Spanish nationals with no prior police records, were transferred to police facilities and subsequently placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
The National Police emphasizes the importance of citizen collaboration in detecting these illicit activities, which are not only linked to drug trafficking but can also generate additional risks such as fires or damage to electrical installations due to illegal connections.
