The National Museum of Ceramics and Sumptuary Arts “González Martí”, located in the Palace of the Marqués de Dos Aguas in Valencia, joins the celebration of International Museum Day 2026 with a special program.

The activities will span three days, combining music, theatrical tours, workshops, and conferences. All of this is carried out under the theme proposed by ICOM: “Museums uniting a divided world,” emphasizing the role of museums as spaces for encounter, dialogue, and social cohesion in fragmented times.
Saturday, May 16, will be the most intense day, with the museum open in the morning and afternoon, and a night opening until midnight. Admission will be free from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, coinciding with the celebration of Museums Night. During the morning, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, the museum will host musical recitals in various rooms in collaboration with the Professional Conservatory of Music of Valencia.
One of the main attractions on Saturday will be the nocturnal theatrical tours, aimed at families with children aged 3 and up. At 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM, visitors will be greeted by historical characters who will guide them through the palace, offering a different way to rediscover this iconic Valencian Baroque building. These activities are free, but require prior reservation.
On Sunday, May 17, the museum will open in the morning, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering free admission throughout the day. Additionally, at 12:00 PM, the “Dove of Peace” ceramics workshop will be held, led by a ceramist. This family activity invites reflection on peace through working with clay, modeling pieces inspired by the dove as a universal symbol. The workshop, aimed at children aged 7 and up, will be conducted in a bilingual Spanish-Ukrainian format.
The special cycle will conclude on Tuesday, May 19, at 7:00 PM with the conference “Between culture and peace: museums in the gaps,” given by a director and researcher. The talk will address the role of museums as infrastructures for peace, capable of activating memory, making conflicts visible, and fostering a more just coexistence through culture. The activity will be free until full capacity is reached and will include Spanish sign language interpretation.
