The PSPV-PSOE in València City Council has called for the immediate publication of the meeting agenda of Councillor for Major Projects and Contracting, José Marí Olano, to clarify potential irregular job offers within the council.

Socialist spokesperson, Borja Sanjuan, has demanded transparency and warned of the possibility of new legal actions if the agenda is not provided or made public. Representatives of this political party in the Valencian capital's city council seek to ascertain whether Olano, who keeps his agenda secret, has held meetings with individuals affected by the alleged prevarication being investigated by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office regarding the redeployment of public employees.
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has opened criminal investigation proceedings against the Mayor of València, María José Catalá (PP), and the president of the Port Authority of Valencia, Mar Chao, for alleged prevarication in connection with a supposed 'hand-picked' redeployment of public personnel from the defunct Consorcio Valencia 2007. The investigation also affects Catalá's executive councillors, Rocío Gil (PP) and Paula Llobet (PP), and four public workers.

"From the socialist group, we have demanded that the meeting agenda of José Marí Olano be made public urgently, a councillor who appears in audios giving away public positions by hand to former Marina workers."

The two opposition groups in the Valencian council, Compromís and PSPV, have asked the Prosecutor's Office to also investigate José Marí Olano after audios emerged in which this councillor “offered tailor-made positions in the City Council” for employees of that consortium following its liquidation. Sanjuan stated that this matter “once again places València City Council under suspicion as a result of the management carried out by the PP”.
The socialist spokesperson emphasized that “transparency is not optional in public management” and that “any meeting held by a public representative of this city council must be recorded in the agenda.” He added that “if meetings have been held that have been concealed, if opaque meetings have been held outside of that agenda, an irregularity is being committed.” The PSPV-PSOE has already formally requested access to this information and insists that, if no response is received, their party will “again go to court.”
For her part, the Mayor of València, María José Catalá, replied that the agendas of her government's councillors “are public,” except for “internal” meetings, and asked to “let the investigation proceed.” She affirmed having provided all possible information and that now “the most important thing is to let it progress and for us to be able to provide the Prosecutor's Office with any documentation that dispels all doubts about this situation.”
