The Prosecutor's Office has requested a four-year prison sentence for a woman accused of continuous fraud, for allegedly taking over 54,000 euros from an elderly woman she was caring for in the city of Valencia.

The trial against the woman accused of defrauding an 81-year-old elderly woman, who had reduced mobility, will begin tomorrow. The events took place at a home in the city of Valencia, where the defendant worked as a caregiver.
The caregiver began working for the victim in January 2024. The elderly woman authorized her to withdraw 2,000 euros per month from her bank passbook to cover monthly payments.
However, the public prosecution alleges that between March and August 2024, the defendant took advantage of the victim's trust to withdraw much larger amounts. It is estimated that she took a total of 54,500 euros without the knowledge of the victim.
For these actions, the Prosecutor's Office is seeking a four-year prison sentence for the accused for continuous fraud.
