Valencia City Council anticipates the completion in eight months of the new cycle path connecting the Turia Garden with the seafront, a project already awarded with an investment of nearly 1.9 million euros.

This new infrastructure will allow travel by bicycle or on foot from the final section of the Turia Garden to the Astilleros bridge, thus connecting neighborhoods like Penya-roja with Nazaret and La Punta. The project, co-financed by the Generalitat, will extend pedestrian and cycle routes from Parque de Cabecera to the future Parque de Desembocadura.
The path, approximately 1.3 kilometers long with a variable width of three to six meters, will link three districts: Camins al Grau, Poblats Marítims, and Quatre Carreres. Driven by Valencia's European Green Capital 2024 status, it addresses a "historic neighborhood demand," according to municipal sources.
The route will start from the left bank of the old Turia riverbed, near 3 d'abril de 1979 street, cross the canal via a metal footbridge, and continue through the Les Moreres PAI to the Astilleros bridge. On the right bank, the path will follow the railway lines, which are slated for undergrounding in a future state project.
The infrastructure will pass under the railway bridge through an existing underpass that will be improved. Subsequently, it will proceed through the Les Moreres PAI to the Cantarranas building, where it will split into a cycle route and a pedestrian route, with priority for pedestrians.
The project includes a 54-meter metal footbridge over the old Turia riverbed, designed to ensure safety against floods based on a specific hydraulic study. The executing company, Orthem Servicios y Actuaciones Ambientales SAU, will install rest areas, solar lighting with presence sensors, trees, bins, bike racks, and video surveillance.

"Our aspiration to connect the city with the sea: this project exemplifies how Valencia is transforming to become a more livable, greener, and more human city."
