The Trinidad Alfonso Foundation has unveiled the 14th edition of Project FER in Valencia, allocating one million euros to 140 Valencian athletes with their sights set on the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The presentation event, held at L’Alqueria del Basket, brought together a broad representation of the Valencian and national sports scene. Federations, clubs, universities, and various sports entities supported the event, which gathered prominent high-performance athletes, as well as representatives from teams such as Villarreal CF, Levante UD, and Valencia Basket.
The motto for this edition, “Based on real dreams,” aligns with the current Olympic cycle and the goal of transforming athletic aspirations into tangible achievements. This idea draws inspiration from the cinematic world, alluding to Los Angeles as a future Olympic host city, and emphasizes the dedication required to reach ambitious goals. During the event, athlete Quique Llopis, recently a world runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles, was recognized for his career.
The FER 2026 program is structured into three categories. The Elite modality includes 45 athletes who will receive aid ranging from 12,000 to 16,000 euros. The Promesas category welcomes 50 beneficiaries, with allocations from 6,000 to 8,000 euros. Finally, the Vivero level gathers 45 young individuals with scholarships of 2,000 or 3,000 euros, depending on their results. Additionally, the FER Coaches program reaches its ninth edition with financial support for 14 technicians.
Since its inception in 2013, Project FER has awarded 1,700 scholarships to 530 athletes, with a total investment of 11 million euros. This initiative has consolidated itself as one of the fundamental pillars for supporting regional sports, with a notable presence in both national and international competitions.
The immediate horizon for Valencian athletes is to continue their progression in the competitions leading up to the major Olympic event. National, European, and World Championships will be key stages on their path to accumulate results and experience before reaching Los Angeles.
