The former vice-president has been elected new president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Valencia (Micof) after winning the elections with 35.29% of the votes.

The Impulso Farmacéutico candidacy secured 853 votes out of 2,417 participating pharmacists, from a total of over 5,000 registered members of Micof. This outcome follows the departure of the previous president, who did not seek re-election after three terms leading the college.
A period is now open until May 19 for submitting appeals against the proclamation of the elected candidacy. The winning candidacy campaigned with the goal of «recovering the college» and representing «all specialties» of the pharmaceutical sector «from altruism and a vocation for service».

"We come to work, not to get paid."

In second place was the Voz Farmacéutica candidacy, with 772 votes. This group aimed to «build a transparent, strategic, useful, and close-to-members college, capable of supporting pharmacy to lead the sector and generate value across the entire healthcare ecosystem».
In third place, with 678 votes, was the Avanza Micof candidacy. This proposal sought to «unite the entire profession, open the college to real participation from members, and offer a more agile and modern service».
The Impulso Farmacéutico program highlights economic transparency as a key area of action, with proposals such as regular financial reports accessible to members and mandatory public tenders for expenses exceeding 5,000 euros. The candidacy also advocated for a renewal of the governing board, with only five members from the current executive and 36 new additions.
Proposed measures include strengthening continuous training, promoting technological innovation, and defending the pharmaceutical model, as well as organizing an annual congress on the needs of assistant pharmacists or creating a territorial network of Micof delegates to enhance contact with professionals in rural areas.
