The mobilization, called by unions such as STEPV, CCOO, UGT, and CSIF, with the support of ANPE, seeks improvements in student-teacher ratios, educational infrastructure, increased staffing, and the recovery of teachers' purchasing power.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Education, the percentage of teachers who joined the strike by 10 AM was 23.96%. By province, participation was 23.57% in Alicante, 22.57% in Castellón, and 25.13% in Valencia.
Approximately 78,000 teachers were called to participate in this strike, which also has the support of families, grouped under Fampa-València and the Gonzalo Anaya Confederation, as well as the Student Union. The day began with pickets at secondary schools and colleges, and will culminate with demonstrations scheduled for midday in Alicante, Castellón, Valencia, and Elche.
The minimum services established by the Ministry of Education for this strike have been challenged in court, specifically concerning the second year of Baccalaureate.
