The Civil Guard and the Tax Agency have arrested a 29-year-old man, arriving from Mexico, at Valencia Airport for carrying 4 kilograms of cocaine hidden in a false bottom of his suitcase.

Agents, while monitoring flights with international connections, randomly identified a Mexican national passenger arriving from Mexico, with a layover at Barajas Airport. He was carrying a checked suitcase under his name.
When asked about the purpose of his trip and if he had anything to declare at Customs, the man stated that he was traveling for tourism and had nothing to declare. Following standard customs procedure, his luggage was screened by an RX scanner.
At that moment, organic matter plates were shown at the bottom of the suitcase which, in the opinion of the intervening agents, could be compatible with the presence of narcotic substances. Once the luggage was opened in his presence, it was observed that, in addition to clothes and personal effects, a false bottom had been created where brick-shaped and plastic-wrapped packages containing a pressed white powder were hidden.
Upon applying the narcotics reagent, the result was positive for cocaine. The subsequent weighing of the substance amounted to a total of 4,000 grams. For these facts, the man has been arrested for an alleged crime against public health, and the judge has ordered his imprisonment.
The investigation was carried out by agents of the UDAIFF and the Fiscal and Borders Section of the Civil Guard at Valencia Airport, along with officials from the Tax Agency in Valencia. The proceedings were handed over to the Civil and Instruction Section of the Court of Quart de Poblet Plaza number 3.
