This Friday, Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair premieres in cinemas, a version that integrates both volumes of Quentin Tarantino's iconic saga into a single film. This special edition presents the director's original vision, featuring a new, never-before-seen anime sequence that delves deeper into the backstory of O-Ren Ishii (portrayed by Lucy Liu).
The film recounts the relentless revenge of The Bride (played by Uma Thurman), who, after waking from a coma induced by a massacre orchestrated by her former boss and lover, Bill, seeks to settle scores with the members of the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.
Initially conceived as a single feature film, the production was divided into two parts for its release in 2003 and 2004 due to its ambition and length. Now, The Whole Bloody Affair restores the narrative and visual integrity, including the House of Blue Leaves scene presented in its entirety and in color, as originally envisioned by Tarantino.
Screenings of this special version will take place in various formats. In València, Cines ABC Park will offer the film in 35mm, while other cities such as Madrid (mk2 Cine Paz) and Zaragoza (Cines Palafox) will project it in 70mm. Phenomena in Barcelona will also present it in 35mm, with further announcements for 35mm screenings expected in April and May across Spain.
